Another home game for the CODS. Playing the West Witney Sports and Social Club who we played last yearand I think we won one and they won one. Not a bad bunch of lads and a couple of good players. We were back up to almost full strength but were missing Jonesey who had the night off because it was his birthday. First up for the CODS wasThe Swaying Mantis himself, tonights swayometer was on a 4 so Cliff was at his best to record a 2-0 victory. Second up for the CODS was yours truly and hit a 180 and won 2-0. Third up was Clintos The Greek, a bit ropey at times but recorded a 2-0 victory. Chris Kibbey was up next, with two out of two so far we were expecting great things from themarsupial man, unfortunately it was not to be as Chris struggled completely and was off colour for a 2-0 loss. Hoping to get us back to winning ways came The Hoare who was back from paternity leave, he wasted no time in dispatching the WWSSC man 2-0. Last on for the CODS was Graham "The Reaper" Woodward, the week in the Priory seems to have done him some good as unlike last week where we had to point him to the board he seemed to have regained the use of his senses and recorded a good 2-1 win. 5-1 up after the singles. Pairs now and it was The Swaying Mantis and myself up first, not the best but a 2-0 win and we are now 6-1 up. Second on was The Greek and Colin "all the gear - no idea" Bird, It was like an episode of bullseye, each one going for the different segments and trying desperately not to hit the same segment twice, they were soundly beaten 2-0, on the positive Colin played quite well but just needs a little more self belief, which he should get after getting himself a hot date with the lovely Hayley, she even said she would pay! now thats my kind of girl.... Last on the for CODS in the pairs was The Hoare and Jabber, they lost the first leg but rallied, sung and swayed their way to a 2-1 victory. A 7-2 win for the cods and an excellent result. This time last year we were losing these games 6-3 or 7-2 sothis just goes to show how far we have come. Well played guys, well supported Clare, Emily, Nick, Kevin (who was late because of work or else he would have played), sonny, Ian and Jo.
