Game Review

Away again so we travelled to the snooker club, nice venue with plenty of snooker & pool tables and wide screen TV's everywhere. The 4's on first, nip and tuck all of the way but a good score from the Hoare and a majestic double from Jabber ensured we went into the singles 1-0 up. First on in the singles was me thanks to the head of small mammals Chris Kibbey deciding to step down from the singles to let me play, I won comfortably 2-0, Next up was Clintos the Greek, he never really got his game going and although he won the first leg his scoring and double trouble were to be the undoing of him. Next up was Chris "Jabber" Green, tried hard but it was not to be his night, had a couple of missed darts at the double and went down 2-0, this left the match score poised at 2-2. Up stepped Cliff "The Quiff" Southam, whacking in a 180 and finishing in style for a 2-0 win. 3-2 up going into the pairs. Me and the Mammal man Chris Kibbey stepped up for the first pairs, lost the first leg after faffing around on doubles, stormed the second leg but a good 80 finish from the opponent when we had left a double meant a 2-1 loss, the match was now at 3-3. Last on for us was the Hoare and the Quiff, lost the first leg on doubles but then won the second easily it was the match deciding leg next, good scores from Andy and Cliff we were running away with it but a late rally from the Snooker Club put pressure on Cliff, with 47 left for the match and battling a mini seismic event which strangely just hit the oche area in Witney Snooker Club and therefore was not recorded on any monitors meant that the ground was moving under his legs which resulted in a little swaying, battling on regardless he hits a 10 going for a 15, now he has 37 left and 2 darts, Cliff stops composes himself and while his team mates are all shouting "downstairs, any odd number" and with that mini earthquake still raging under his legs he hits a single 5 which leaves 32, then without even a second glance places the dart firmly in the middle of the bed for the match win, "you're not wrong"  A very good result which means that we are unbeaten for the whole of the first half of the league and must be in contention for the title, I think that it is probably because of this that Chris "landlord" Jones came with us, he captains the local football team and I think he just wants to be around a side that might actually win something lol.
