The
following league rules apply to both winter and summer leagues and
Men’s and Ladies except where stated differently.
Rule
1 Players
to be registered by the pub or club they represent. Summer entrance
fee is £25 per men’s or ladies team. Winter entrance fee is £25
per ladies team and £35 per men’s team. These fees include
unlimited amount of players registered. Entry forms received late
will be charged a further £5 entry fee.
Rule
2 Once
a player has registered and played for a specific team he/she is not
eligible to play for another team, except for the
Landlord/Landlady/Steward who may play for any team of their pub/club
(subject to Rule 14) unless they play regularly for a team. Should a
team fold mid-season, then players should request, in writing to the
League Secretary, there wish to register for a further team, the
committee will be made and a response given within 7 date of the
request being received.
Rule
3 During
the first half of season new players can be registered on the night
of a match and play. No new players are to be registered during
second half of season without notifying the Secretary in advance with
a reason.
Rule
4 Ladies
league match night is TUESDAY. Men’s league match night is
THURSDAY.
Men’s
and ladies summer league teams consist of 4 players and games will be
played as follows;
One
four-a-side 1001, then four singles, then 2 pairs.
1001
match is straight in and double finish, one leg only.
Ladies
league singles is 401 double start and finish, best of 3 legs.
Men’s
league singles is 501 double start and finish, best of 3 legs.
Both
ladies and men’s league pairs is double start and finish, best of 3
legs.
Ladies
winter league teams consist of 4 players and games are played as they
are in the summer league above.
Men’s
winter league teams consist of 6 players and games will be played as
follows;
Six
singles, then three pairs.
All
games are 501 double start and finish, best of 3 legs.
Each
winning game will score one point with an extra point awarded to the
team winning the match.
The
non-bust rule applies in all games. Bull’s-eye to count as a
starting and finishing double.
Any
four registered players (regardless of the draw) can play in the
1001, and it can be played first or last.
Singles
must be played as drawn by the captains and recorded on result sheet.
Players
may be substituted into the pairs but captains must notify each other
during the draw. A maximum of two players for 4-a-side or 3 players
for 6-a-side may be swapped in the pairs. Players must not swap
positions in pairs. I.e. if drawn 1st
in singles, must play 1st
in pairs or be replaced by another player but can not play 3rd
instead! These are all subject to Rule 14.
Rule
5 A
standard throw of 7’6’’ (minimum) with 5’8’’ from centre
of bull to floor is to be used.
If
there is any doubt a further check can be made measuring centre of
the bull to the front of the oche, this being 9’4”
Rule
6 Manual
chalkboards are required and electronic scoreboards can be used if
both teams agree.

7 Matches
must not be played for double points.
Rule
8 Result
cards must be checked at the end of each match and signed by both
team captains. Captains are responsible to independently send their
copy to the Secretary. Results must be received within 7 working
days. If
neither result card is received there will be a 4-point penalty
deducted from both teams.
If cards are held at the Post Office due to lack of a stamp, these
will remain uncollected and the above will apply.
Rule
9 Home
team to supply chalker. Away team to supply checker if required.
Scores should be verified by player and chalker BEFORE REMOVING DARTS
FROM BOARD. Darts that fall out of the board before the player has
removed them DO NOT COUNT, even if this is a finishing double!! (You
may secure your darts while score is being verified). Even if the
chalker has taken the score away, it must be added back on in this
event.
Rule
10 Name
cards used for making the draw should clearly show players initial
and surname. Names must be printed clearly on the result sheet.
Illegible names, or where first names only are used, will not be
included towards the most wins competition. It is both captains
responsibility to ensure their players names are clearly printed when
they do the draw and sign the sheet.
Rule
11 Teams
should give at least 24 hours notice to cancel a match. Teams that
cannot fulfil a fixture date will forfeit any points, and 1 point per
singles + 1 point for a win will be awarded to the opponents (Total
of 5 points for 4-a-side, 7 points for 6-a-side). During the winter
league the opponents will automatically get a W towards the most wins
comp. However, by MUTUAL agreement, you may play a fixture on
another night other than the match night and this will count as match
fulfilled. THE
SECRETARY MUST BE INFORMED OF ALL CANCELLED AND REARRANGED MATCHES
STRAIGHT AWAY.
A 3 strike rule applies to any team failing to
notify an opposing team on three occasions, in these circumstances
that team will be withdrawn from the League.
Rule
12 Matches
to start at 8.30pm. Captains may independently arrange to start
games earlier to avoid late finishes. Both captains must consent to
this as well as the host pub. Travelling opponents must inform home
team if for any reason they will be late as soon as possible. No
games or matches can be claimed due to late start.
Rule
13 Men’s
winter league teams MUST still play fixture even if only 4 players
are available on match night. Ladies teams and men’s summer teams
MUST still play fixtures if only 3 players are available. Draw names
as usual using a blank card for missing player(s).
1001
game and/or pairs with a missing player must forfeit a go each time
the missing player should throw.
Rule
14 Ladies
are allowed to register in men’s league. A maximum of two ladies
can play in a match at any time during the summer league, and two
ladies can play in a match during the winter league. Men are not
allowed to play in the ladies league.
Rule
15 Teams
withdrawing from the league. All points will be deleted back to
start of season.
Rule
16 The
committee is not responsible for the conduct of players. It is up to
the discretion of the Lanlord/Landlady, Steward/Manager how they deal
with the behavioural disputes within their establishments. If players
are barred then it is the teams responsibility to ensure they have
reserve players to cover. The committee will deal with any offence by
team or players covered by rules, they are also responsible for
making new rules. Please put any complaints or queries in writing to
the Secretary.
Rule
17 Each
pub participating in the league is entitled to one vote (regardless
of the number of teams they have) at the AGM and any EGM’s. It is
important that there is a representative from each pub attending
these meetings.

Mixed
comps must have equal split of men and ladies except mixed threes

Entrance
fees for all competitions are £1 per person (except supplementary
cup which all 1st
round losers of knock out cup are entered).
All
comp fees must be sent in advance with the entry forms by the closing
date stated to ensure competitions can be drawn, typed and sent out
in time.
All
Competitors must arrive for competitions no later than 8.20pm. The
draws are to be made at 8.20pm on the night, by the designated
person.
All
winners are to return the draw sheet to the League Secretary, if the
Secretary has not been informed within 48hrs of the draw being played
then a Bye will be placed into the draw for the next round.
